A computer or tablet (not recommended on phone), a working microphone for the speaking section, headphones or speakers for listening, and a stable internet connection. Chrome or Edge browsers recommended for best speech recognition support.
You'll see preliminary results for Listening, Reading, and Use of English immediately after completing the test. Your full results — including coach-reviewed Speaking and Writing scores, detailed breakdown, and personalised roadmap — will be emailed within 48 hours.
No. This is an independent English proficiency assessment designed by English Fluency Coach. The test format is inspired by established Cambridge and IELTS exam structures, and results are aligned to the CEFR framework, but this is not a certified Cambridge or IELTS examination.
You cannot pause within a section, but your progress is saved between sections. If your browser closes, you can resume from the last completed section using the link emailed to you at the start of the test.
We test your microphone before the assessment begins. If issues arise during the Speaking section, you can retry the current task. If your microphone fails completely, you'll receive a 4-skill assessment (without Speaking) and can contact support for a free Speaking section retake.
Yes, after a minimum of 30 days. Each retake uses a different question set so your results reflect genuine improvement, not test familiarity. Retakes are also free.
